WASHINGTON, DC -- Representative Adriano Espaillat (D-NY-13), Ranking Member of the Legislative Branch Subcommittee, issued the following statement today during the House Rules Committee in opposition to Republican cuts to H. R. 4364, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act of 2024.

The proposed Republican cuts include vital investments to Legislative Branch agencies including for the United States Capitol Police, Sergeant at Arms, campus security and other programs to avert threats to the direct safety and operations of these programs.
