Internships

My office is always looking for applicants with a mature, professional manner who are well-organized, efficient and self-motivated to serve as interns in our Washington, DC and New York offices. Internships run throughout the fall, spring and summer semesters and while unpaid, they offer current undergraduate or graduate students the ability to gain invaluable work experience along with course credit for their work. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run during office hours Monday to Friday, 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.

If you would like to be considered for a position, please email your resume, cover letter, and a short writing sample to the email address below. In your application, be sure to include the semester and dates you would be available to intern.

Washington, DC

In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office first-hand.

District interns will witness the day-to-day delivery of services to constituents and other field activities that are essential to my work in Congress. Responsibilities vary but will include research for constituents, assisting with Congressional events, answering phones, writing letters and other general office duties. Spanish language skills are helpful, but not required.
