WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) announced the restoration of funding for the Capital Investment Grants (CIG) program to its fully authorized level of $2.3 billion. The broadly popular program enjoys bipartisan support and helps cities and states around the country get major transit infrastructure improvement projects off the ground. The CIG New Starts program will be a critical source of funding for the Second Avenue Subway Phase II Extension project.

NEW YORK, NYRepresentative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will host a district townhall discussion on the 2020 Census on Thursday, May 23rd from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. EDT at Serviam Hall located at 2848 Bainbridge Avenue, Bronx, NY 10458. During the event, Rep. Espaillat will be joined by special guest Julie Menin, Director of the Census for New York City, and city leaders and will provide constituents an overview of the upcoming United States Census.

Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) voted to pass H.R. 5, the Equality Act, to ensure that all LGBTQ Americans are granted the full protections guaranteed by federal civil rights law. The Equality Act extends anti-discrimination protections to LGBTQ Americans with regard to employment, education, access to credit, jury service, federal funding, housing and public accommodations.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement upon passage of his amendment, the Espaillat Amendment on Environmental Justice to H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, which calls on the U.S. House to consider the impact of climate change on communities of color and disenfranchised communities. The Espaillat Amendment on Environmental Justice passed the U.S. House by a vote of 237 to 185. The Climate Action Now Act, subsequently passed in the House as well.
