WASHINGTON, DC -- Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement on the passing of United States Senator Dianne Feinstein of California.
“Senator Dianne Feinstein was an icon for women and equality in a field historically dominated by men,” said Espaillat. “Early in her career, she broke barriers and blazed a path that set the stage for women in leadership throughout all levels of U.S. government. Our nation owes a tremendous level of gratitude to Senator Dianne Feinstein for her life of public service to help improve the lives of all people. She was the quintessential statesman who carried herself with the dignity, grace, and poise that many in these halls of Congress could stand to learn from today. She will be missed sorely and may her memory and the impact she had benefiting the lives of the residents of San Franciscans, Californians, and everyday Americans always be remembered.”
