Representative Adriano Espaillat Statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement in reflection on the significance of Yom Hashoah:
"Today on Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, we take this opportunity to reflect on the systematic genocide of six million Jewish fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters, alongside millions of other ethnic minorities and political prisoners, and the impact felt around the world," said Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13).
"Despite the traumatizing memories they carry, Holocaust survivors continue to educate each of us on the courage and wisdom required in our efforts to uphold human rights and ensure equal protections for all individuals. It is our duty to ensure that the Holocaust remains present in our minds and our convictions to dismantle hatred to prevent this barbaric injustice from repeating itself.
"Recent tragic events targeting places of worship demonstrate the need for continued vigilance, along with the cost of complacency when we fail to speak out against hate, racism and anti-Semitism. We have witnessed attacks on synagogues in San Diego and Pittsburgh, African American churches in Louisiana, and on mosques and churches in New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
"As we reflect during this Yom Hashoah, we recognize that our vow, ‘never again' is not just a statement of remembrance, but also a call to action and in solidarity against all forms of bigotry, hatred, and social injustices."

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Hoy, el congresista Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) emitió la siguiente declaración en reflexión sobre la importancia del Yom Hashoah:
"Hoy en Yom Hashoah, Día de Conmemoración del Holocausto, aprovechamos esta oportunidad para reflexionar sobre el genocidio sistemático de seis millones de padres, madres, hijos e hijas judíos, junto con millones de otras minorías étnicas y presos políticos, y el impacto que se siente en todo el mundo", dijo el congresista Adriano Espaillat (NY-13).
"A pesar de los recuerdos traumáticos que llevan, los sobrevivientes del Holocausto continúan educándonos sobre el coraje y la sabiduría que se requieren en nuestros esfuerzos por defender los derechos humanos y garantizar la igualdad de protección para todas las personas. Es nuestro deber asegurar que el Holocausto permanezca presente en nuestras mentes y nuestras convicciones para desmantelar el odio a fin de evitar que esta injusticia inhumana se repita.
"Los recientes eventos trágicos que tuvieron como blanco lugares de culto demuestran la necesidad que hay de una vigilancia continua, junto con el costo de la complacencia cuando no nos pronunciamos contra el odio, el racismo y el antisemitismo.
