The Parlacen is a political institution dedicated to the integration of the countries of Central America. Earlier this week, the Central Forums of the Central American Parliament were inaugurated in Santo Domingo, with the representation of the six states that make up the Parlacen and include: Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
Rep. Espaillat was honored by the Parlacen for his work in Washington and New York's 13th congressional district during the Women's Forum held earlier today.

Parlacen reconocerá al congresista Adriano Espaillat por su defensa de los inmigrantes
NEW YORK, N.Y. – El Parlamento Centroamericano (Parlacen) emitió una resolución en reconocimiento del congresista Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), representante del Distrito 13 de Nueva York ante la Cámara de Representantes de los Estados Unidos, por su defensa de los derechos de los emigrantes centroamericanos y caribeños en los Estados Unidos, sus programas de ayuda a la niñez y su defensa de los derechos de la mujer.
El diputado dominicano Tony Raful, presidente del Parlamento Centroamericano, anunció que el acto de reconocimiento público al congresista Adriano Espaillat se celebrará este martes, 28 de agosto, en el marco del Foro de Mujeres.
El Parlacen es una institución política consagrada a la integración de los países de Centroamérica. El lunes, 27 de agosto, se inauguraron en Santo Domingo, los Foros regionales del Parlamento Centroamericano, con la representación de los seis Estados que integran el Parlacen, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Panamá y República Dominicana.
El congresista Adriano Espaillat, quien desde que asumió el cargo en el Congresos de los Estados Unidos ha abogado por los derechos de los inmigrantes, agradeció el reconocimiento del Parlacen.
"Para mí es un honor recibir del Parlacen este significativo reconocimiento por mi defensa de los inmigrantes, muchos de los cuales vienen a los Estados Unidos de los Estados miembro de esta entidad, en busca de una mejor vida para ellos y su familia", dijo el congresista Espaillat.
