FY24 Appropriations Season Update
Dear Friends and Community Partners,
The season for appropriations and community projects funding is right around the corner. I have spoken with many of you during our previous cycles and some have been in direct receipt of the support offered through this process.
Whereas, the portal has not yet opened for Community Projects Funding for the U.S. House of Representatives, the deadline for the Senate process is approaching soon. In order to strengthen your chances of being considered for House funding, your organization should consider a Senate application. My colleagues in the U.S. Senate, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Gillibrand, are now accepting requests for Congressionally Directed Spending (earmarks) for Fiscal Year 2024.
The Congressionally Directed Spending process is an opportunity for Senators Schumer and Gillibrand to place requests to direct federal funding to support local projects across New York that advance community priorities.
You can find the link to the Senator Gillibrand’s FY 24 Congressionally Directed Spending request form here and link to Senator Schumer’s here. The online portal will be open and accepting applications until Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:59pm, and I encourage each of you to submit your applications before the deadline.
Please note that you will not be able to submit applications past this date.
1. Please be aware that prior applications from the FY2023 round of CDS (Earmarks) do not carry over to this FY2024 round.
2. If you would like an unfunded FY2023 request to be considered in this round, you are required to re-submit your application.
If you need assistance, please contact Senator Gillibrand's office before the March 6th deadline by emailing appropriations@gillibrand.senate.gov or Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer’s office by emailing appropriations@schumer.senate.gov.
Through this process in collaboration with my New York colleagues in Congress, we are able to deliver direct funding to organizations throughout our communities to help provide support for constituents and families who call New York home. Please do not wait until the last minute to begin this process and do not hesitate to contact my Legislative Director, Monica Garay at monica.garay1@mail.house.gov should you have any questions about the Senate or House process.
Thank you.
