Joined by Community Leaders, Rep. Espaillat Gives Firsthand Account of Devastation throughout Puerto Rico and Calls for Increased Federal Resources for Relief Efforts

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Monday, October 2, 2017 starting at 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EDT at the Taino Towers Senior Center in East Harlem (located at 2383 2nd Avenue; between 122nd and 123rd Streets), Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will hold a press conference upon his return from an on-the-ground assessment of the damage and devastation throughout Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. 

Rep. Espaillat, joined by members of the New York congressional delegation and Puerto Rican leaders and advocates, will provide a detailed report of his firsthand assessment of area destruction, living conditions, and meetings held with Puerto Rican officials. Rep. Espaillat and participating leaders will continue their calls for an increase of federal resources to support Puerto Rico relief efforts as we enter the thirteenth day since Hurricane Maria made landfall.
