Statement from Representative Adriano Espaillat Reflecting on the 4th Anniversary of January 6th

January 6, 2025

WASHINGTIN, DC – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement reflecting on the fourth anniversary of January 6th:

"Today, we pause to reflect on the violent attack that occurred at the United States Capitol four years ago as part of an organized attempt to halt the peaceful transfer of power," said Rep. Espaillat. "More than 140 police officers were seriously injured and several lost their lives as a result of the traumatic events of that day.

"Today, and every day, we remember the events of that tragic day, including the lives that were lost, and the heroism of our law enforcement officers who responded. We recommit our efforts to protect and defend our democracy to uphold from those who would undermine or end it."
