Representative Adriano Espaillat Statement Following Tonight's State of the Union Address
WASHINGTON, DC -- Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement in response to tonight's State of the Union Address by President Joe Biden:
"This evening, President Biden spoke to the American people and our allies around the world during in his State of the Union address highlighting the historic progress we have made during the Biden Administration, and his meaningful vision for the future," said Rep. Espaillat.
"America is strong under President Biden's leadership. Tonight, we were reminded of all that is at stake for the future of our nation as we continue our collective efforts to build an economy where all Americans thrive, keep communities safe, reduce health care costs, improve education, and combat climate change," he continued.
"As President Biden outlined during his address, we must defend our democracy, protect our rights and fundamental freedoms, and ensure a stronger and more vibrant future for all, here in my district, and in communities around the nation. I am proud to stand united with President Biden and of the work that lies ahead to implement policies to support all who are counting on us at this critical time at home and abroad." Espaillat concluded.

Representative Espaillat is the first Dominican American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and his congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and the north-west Bronx. First elected to Congress in 2016, Representative Espaillat is serving his fourth term in Congress.
