ESPAILLAT, HOCHUL LEAD COMMUNITY RECOGNITION IN HONOR OF DOMINICAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

NEW YORK, NY— On Thursday, February 26, Representative Adriano Espaillat, in collaboration with New York Governor Kathy Hochul and Jesús (Chu) Vásquez Martínez, Consul General of the Dominican Republic in New York, will gather at the Juan Pablo Duarte Foundation to commemorate Dominican Independence Day and celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of the Dominican community to the state. 

The event will recognize the 182nd anniversary of the Dominican Republic’s independence.

Representative Espaillat is the first Dominican American to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives and his congressional district includes Harlem, East Harlem, West Harlem, Hamilton Heights, Washington Heights, Inwood, Marble Hill and the north-west Bronx.
