Espaillat Applauds House Passage of His Bill to Codify, Reauthorize and Fund Growth Accelerator Fund Competition

October 23, 2019

WASHINGTON, DCRepresentative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released the following statement on House passage of his bill, H.R. 4387, which passed unanimously by voice vote yesterday and would codify, reauthorize and fund the growth accelerator fund competition for four years.

The Small Business Growth Accelerator Fund Competition has been one of the most productive partnerships that small businesses and the Small Business Administration have engaged in," said Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13). "Since this program began in 2014, the Growth Accelerator Fund Competition has helped small businesses and entrepreneurs in almost 40 states. From just the first 50 awardees alone, this partnership has blossomed into 1,500 companies nationwide and fortified the pipeline of talented entrepreneurs – especially women and minorities – to grow and succeed.

"I am grateful for the leadership of Chairwoman Velázquez and Ranking Member Chabot and the opportunity to work with my colleague Congressman Balderson of Ohio to ensure that this program and the lasting partnerships that form continue with the bipartisan support it deserves."
