Congressman Adriano Espaillat will visit the Dominican Republic as a tourist and will meet with executives from the tourism industry and government officials

NEW YORK, NY - Congressman Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will visit the Dominican Republic as a tourist from July 1 to 6 of this year, where he will also enjoy the country's tourist attractions with his family as he does every year, and his schedule will include meetings with government officials, executives from the tourism industry and officials of the United States Embassy in the country, with the purpose of continuing to support tourism on the Caribbean island and collaboration with the authorities in search for security models for the protection of tourists to ensure the Dominican Republic continues as a world-class tourist destination.

In New York, Congressman Espaillat held a meeting with Tourism Minister Francisco Javier García.

On Monday, July 1, Congressman Espaillat will meet with officials of the United States Embassy in the country. On July 2, will meet with executives of the National Association of Hotels and Restaurants (ASONAHORES) and, if confirmed, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Miguel Vargas Maldonado. At night, Congressman Espaillat, at the invitation of the Embassy of the United States on the island, will celebrate Independence Day of the United States in a ceremony at the Quisqueya Stadium.

"I am concerned about the recent deaths of tourists in the Dominican Republic and the unjust media campaign they have undertaken as a result of these events against the country's tourism industry, which is one of the pillars that sustains the economy of the island," said Congressman Espaillat. "I will visit the country where I was born, as I do every year, to enjoy the varied and rich range of options offered by the Dominican Republic to tourists, and to continue supporting the country's tourism and offer all my support and collaboration in the identification and implementation of better security models for tourists to ensure the Dominican Republic continues to be a world-class tourist destination."

Congresista Adriano Espaillat visitará República Dominicana como turista y se reunirá con ejecutivos de la industria turística y funcionarios gubernamentales

NEW YORK, NY – El congresista Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) visitará República Dominicana como turista del 1 al 6 de julio del año en curso, donde además de disfrutar con su familia de los atractivos turísticos del país como lo hace todos los años, agotará una apretada agenda que incluye reuniones con funcionarios gubernamentales, ejecutivos de la industria turística y funcionarios de la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en el país, con el propósito de continuar respaldando el turismo en la isla caribeña y colaborar con las autoridades en la búsqueda de modelos de seguridad para la protección de los turistas, a fin de que República Dominicana continúe como un destino turístico de primera categoría a nivel mundial.

En Nueva York, ya el congresista Espaillat sostuvo una reunión con el ministro de Turismo, Francisco Javier García.

El lunes 1 de julio, el congresista Espaillat se reunirá con funcionarios de la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en el país. El 2 de julio, re reunirá con ejecutivos de la Asociación Nacional de Hoteles y Restaurantes (ASONAHORES) y, de confirmarse, con el ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Miguel Vargas Maldonado. En la noche, el congresista Espaillat, por invitación de la Embajada de los Estados Unidos en la isla, celebrará el Día de la Independencia de los Estados Unidos en un acto en el Estadio Quisqueya.

"Me preocupan las recientes muertes de turistas en la República Dominicana y la injusta campaña mediática que han emprendido a raíz de estos hechos contra la industria turística del país, que es uno de los pilares que sostiene la economía de la isla", dijo el congresista Espaillat. "Visitaré el país que me vio nacer, como lo hago todos los años, para disfrutar del variado y rico abanico de opciones que ofrece la República Dominicana al turista, y para seguir apoyando el turismo del país y ofrecer todo mi apoyo y colaboración en la identificación e implementación de mejores modelos de seguridad para los turistas, a fin de que la República Dominicana continúe siendo un destino turístico de primera categoría a nivel mundial".
