"One year ago today, George Floyd was murdered in cold blood by a police officer whose sworn duty was to protect and serve. It’s no question that George should still be with us today, and my heart remains with his family, and all families who have lost loved ones at the hands of injustice," said Rep. Espaillat.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representatives Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14),and Hank Johnson (GA-04) released the following joint statement on the Biden-Harris administration and Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas announcement to close the ICE facility in Irwin County, Georgia. The members of Congress long urged the previous administration to close this location following reports of abuse and inhumane treatment at the Irwin facility.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) voted for H.R. 3233, legislation to establish an independent, bipartisan 9/11-type commission to examine and report upon the facts, causes and security relating to the terrorist mob attack on the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021. The Commission would also be charged with making recommendations to prevent future attacks on our democracy.
