Washington, DC – U.S. Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand today announced $2,400,000 in federal funding for four organizations in New York City that provide legal services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The funding was allocated through the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) Legal Assistance for Victims Grant (LAV) Program. Specifically, the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, Sanctuary for Families, Inc., New York Legal Assistance Group, Inc., and New York City Gay and Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, Inc.
