Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) urged OSHA to modernize crane and derrick safety standards earlier this month. In a letter signed by five other members of Congress including Rep. Nydia Velázquez (NY-7), the representative argued the Department of Labor’s recent, updated standards on the issue didn’t reflect the age of advanced technology available.

Espaillat member of the Appropriations Committee and Maloney, president of supervision and investigation of the House of Representatives, urged the federal agency in the letter to exercise its administrative authority and require air carriers and ticket agents that provide requested refunds to passengers when an air carrier cancels or materially changes a flight to, from, or within the United States.

After sending a letter to U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, the first and only congressman of Dominican origin in U.S. territory, Adriano Espaillat (D-13), announced on Wednesday that the federal agency will adopt new rules to strengthen the protection of airline customers. "I congratulate Secretary Buttigieg and the Department of Transportation for this recent action to protect airline consumers, prioritizing people over companies' profits," the congressman said.

Un grupo de representantes demócratas avanzaron con un plan para intentar que ocho millones de inmigrantes indocumentados puedan obtener una ‘green card’, el primer paso a la ciudadanía.

Se trata de la Ley de Registro, enviada a la Cámara de Representantes la semana pasada, que busca reformar la fecha para que un indocumentado solicite la Residencia Legal Permanente, si puede demostrar que lleva más de siete años viviendo en EE.UU. y no tiene récord criminal.

Each spring, members of Congress put their pen and papers aside to host a visual arts competition — known as the congressional art competition. Art entries are open to only high school students to gain the opportunity of a lifetime to recognize their own talent and encourage their artistic side.

Now that April 27 deadline has passed, a panel of judges in Rep. Adriano Espaillat’s District 13 will decide the winner that will be recognized both in their district and at an annual award ceremony in Washington, D.C.
