NEW YORK, NY – Today, Representative Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) issued the following statement to highlight new benefits that veterans exposed to toxic substances can receive under the PACT Act, which was signed into law last year, and to encourage veterans and their families from New York’s 13th congressional district to apply by an important August 9 deadline.
Members of the New York Congressional delegation are trying to pressure the federal government to take a more active role in aiding the migrant situation in New York City.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, along with Congressmen Jamaal Bowman and Adriano Espaillat, sent a letter to U.S. Customs and Immigration to call on the agency to expand “support centers” in New York.
They want the centers to provide food, shelter and legal support to migrants.
