NEW YORK, NY – Today, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) released the following statement today on the Trump Administration's decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nicaraguans:

"The Trump Administration's decision to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nicaraguans is misguided and deeply troubling," said Rep. Espaillat. "Many of these individuals have lived in the United States for nearly two decades, are parents to American citizens, and contribute to the American economy.

Washington, DC – At a press conference today, Rep. Adriano Espaillat (D-NY) and Rep. Luis V. Gutiérrez (D-IL) introduced the Waiver of Emergency Payments Act (WEPA), a bill to eliminate cost-sharing requirements for Puerto Rico for recovery from Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) will host a district jobs fair on Friday, October 27th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. EDT at the Taino Towers located at 240 East 123rd Street.

The purpose of this event is to connect job seekers with representatives of local businesses looking to hire and train individuals within New York's 13th congressional district. As we approach the holidays, seasonal job opportunities will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring resumes.

Espaillat has visited Puerto Rico twice since Hurricane Maria to assess the damage and destruction following the storm. Rep. Espaillat is a leading voice in Congress in his calls for immediate federal relief to aid in the rebuilding of Puerto Rico, and he has declared Puerto Rico our Caribbean Katrina.

"President Trump's decision to decertify Iran's compliance with the JCPOA isolates America from our international partners China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the European Union (EU) that stood with us in the decision to ensure the parameters of Iran's nuclear program," said Rep.
